A Polite Stray Cat’s Gentle Request: Knocking on the Door, Seeking Adoption, and Longing to Become Part of a Loving Family
There was a stray cat who would often come to the front of my apartment building to be fed. One day, she surprised me by coming directly to my door, as if asking for food. I offered her some sausage, but it didn’t seem to suit her taste. However, when I changed the food, she eagerly enjoyed it. From that day on, she would visit at least twice a day, meowing at my door each time.
Our daily routine became a delightful game of guessing her preferences. Sometimes it was ham sausage, other times it was chicken breast or even pork. She would greet me with her gentle presence, expressing her gratitude for the meal. Over time, she became more comfortable around me, circling around my feet and gently touching them. She would even stand up, requesting to be petted.
I noticed that she recognized my voice, as she would come down from her usual spot to find me when I called out to her. When I had to leave the house, she would watch me with her curious eyes, almost as if she didn’t want me to go. After two weeks of feeding her, she started showing signs of wanting to enter my home. However, I already had two cats at home, so I needed to isolate them first.
After discussing with my fiancé, we made the decision to adopt her. The following day, we took her to the pet hospital for a checkup. Despite the cold weather, we drove there, ensuring her comfort. The examination revealed that she was an adult cat with fully grown teeth. There was an unhealed wound on her face, likely a result of fights with other stray cats. The doctor assured us that this was the only issue and could be treated.
Once the treatment was complete, we brought her back home. She quickly adapted to her new surroundings and even received a new name—Little Beauty. QiQi, our resident cat, welcomed her as her younger sister. As the days passed, Little Beauty’s wound started to heal, and we were able to give her proper grooming and care.
We trimmed her nails, cleaned her fur, and gave her a much-needed bath. Afterward, she looked even more beautiful and felt more comfortable in her own skin. The cozy bed we provided gave her a sense of security, and she purred gently, expressing her contentment.
Gradually, Little Beauty settled into domestic life and showed her playful side. She became curious about the outside world and would occasionally venture out to explore. Her long eyelashes and charming personality captured our hearts even more.
Little Beauty’s journey from a polite stray cat to a beloved member of our family filled our lives with joy and love. We are grateful that we could provide her with a safe and loving home, and she, in turn, has brought us immeasurable happiness.
