A stray cat, hit by a car, with a broken leg, lay in place, collapsed, and awaited its final moments.
Today, the rescue team faced an urgent situation late at night. Given the nature of our work, we must always be prepared for rescue operations at any time. This particular cat was found by a young man while driving on the road. According to his account, the cat had been involved in an accident with a car and was lying motionless at the scene. It seemed that the car responsible for the accident had fled.
By the time we arrived, it was nearly 2 a.m. The poor cat lay there, lonely and cold, in the middle of the road. The kind-hearted young man stayed until we arrived before finally leaving with a sense of relief. Before us was an incredibly cute cat with orange and black fur. However, it was unable to stand or move. The cat was in a state of panic and exhibited strong aggression towards us, attempting to scratch and bite. But perhaps due to the severity of its injuries, the cat couldn’t put up much resistance.
We managed to capture her easily and returned to the rescue team. Since there were no open veterinary clinics at that time, the best course of action was to bring her home and wait until morning. We could only hope that the cat would hold on until then.
We began examining the cat’s body. There was no visible bleeding, suggesting internal injuries. We carefully palpated to identify the location of the broken bones. Based on my assessment, it appeared that both of her hind legs were fractured, likely the femurs. She had also lost two canine teeth. Fortunately, her rib cage seemed intact, providing protection for her internal organs.
We placed her in a small cage to rest. Tonight would be a long night as none of us could sleep. We were all filled with worry and silently prayed for the best outcome for the cat.
