In Pursuit of Justice: Seeking the Culprit Who Cruelly Severed Both Ears of a Cat in England.
Sarah Cutting, 35, from Eglington Mews found a staggering cat with both ears removed.
She said she also found another dead cat in the same area that evening. Sarah believes that this poor cat was killed by a young man.
According to Sarah, Patch was a stray cat that came to her door at 11 p.m. on Wednesday night.
“He comes here very often, I feed him, my husband opens the door and we bring Patch into the house. That day, Patch arrived in a very bad condition: blood pouring from both cut ears.”
Sarah rushed the cat to Taverham veterinary hospital for surgery. Hospital staff said Patch is recovering and they are working to help the cat quickly return home.
That same night, Sarah and her husband scouted the area for clues about Patch’s attack and discovered a dead cat nearby.
She believes this is the cat described in the Lost and Found Cats post on the Norwich Facebook page. The post describes a cat being held by the tail by a young man and thrown into a garage in area NR3.
Sarah, who currently has three cats, said: “I’m up all night, I can’t stand this, it’s really horrible. I was completely freaked out, I think most of us were.
Honestly, I don’t want to be here anymore. I’m thinking about moving to a safer place for my cats. I brought them all into the house.
The person who did this is really scared and horrible. He will choose any cat to torment it.”
Less than two weeks later, just a 5-minute walk from the site of the first attack, a domestic cat named Bubba was found with similar, or even more serious, injuries.
Georgina Barnes, the cat’s owner, was extremely frightened when she found Bubba in a seriously injured state with both ears cut off and a deep stab wound above his back.
Georgina, 27 years old, said Bubba did not come home all night, but for Bubba, this was normal.
The next evening, when she left the house around 8 p.m., she was horrified to discover Bubba covered in blood lying on the sofa.
“The boy looked like he had been hit by a car. We didn’t even know it had returned, it didn’t make a single sound.
Bubba lost most of the hair on his back, as if he had been shaved. I called my husband and he discovered Bubba’s ear had been cut off along with a deep stab wound on his back.”
Bubba was taken to Taverham veterinary hospital for treatment and is currently recovering.
Georgina said: “Someone told me that these were the worst injuries he had ever seen and that these injuries did not look like they had been attacked by other animals but like someone had used a knife. .”
The injuries are so serious that Bubba may need back surgery because the stab wound could hinder the cat’s ability to walk in the future.
A representative of the RSPCA (Royal Society for the Protection of Animals) said the organization had received notice of Bubba’s attack.
The spokesperson added: “We are saddened to hear about this unfortunate incident and hope Bubba makes a very good recovery.”
Norfolk Regional Police said they are in the initial stages of investigating this incident. Members of the public are urged to notify the RSPCA or police if they have further information about the incident.
