Inspirational Lessons of Resilience from an Abandoned, Ill, and Disabled Cat
It’s not natural that many people volunteer to love and care for their pets wholeheartedly, willing to honor them as “owners” while they accept their fate as “lotus”. Pets are not only a friend who is always by our side, listening to our whispers, but sometimes, they teach us many valuable lessons about life.
And Mai Mai is such a cat! The cat touches us all with his extraordinary determination to live. Mai Mai is a stray cat, brought home by Kim Anh (27 years old, an office worker in Saigon) in an extremely skinny, weak, and debilitated condition. Mai Mai’s body was even stiff with her neck tilted to one side. The cat cannot eat, drink, walk, or lie flat.
A few days after being rescued and cared for by her new owner, Mai Mai’s situation was still not any better. Many people advised Kim Anh to have euthanasia so the cat could pass away peacefully. However, the 9X girl shared: “Mai Mai’s eyes are always filled with a strong desire to live that makes me unable to do that.” Her friend shared that Mai Mai is very gluttonous, perhaps the years of being abandoned have made Mai Mai very obedient and obedient when someone gently takes care of her.
A miracle appeared when Mai Mai met a veterinarian named Bill. After being treated by a doctor, the cat’s health gradually improved. Mai Mai can now walk a little on her hind legs. “The first steps are really difficult, but Mai Mai is very hardworking and diligent in practicing” – Kim Anh said. After 2 weeks of treatment combining massage and practice and constant effort, Mai Mai was able to walk and run. “Mai Mai is very naughty, likes to run, jump and tease other children.”
Kim Anh said: “Love is constantly trying. No one thought Mai Mai could live, let alone walk and run. However, the miracle called effort came to her. I bet My name is Mai Mai with the hope that tomorrow will always come to this resilient cat.”
Currently, Mai Mai lives happily and is cared for and loved by her new owners. Let’s wish this strong cat a happy life to make up for the hard days that have passed!
