The tiny army of ants had commenced their ascent upon his weary body.
I was running on the road when suddenly I saw a kitten. At first, I thought it was just a stuffed toy cat. But as I approached closer, I realized it was actually a real kitten. The little kitten was extremely tiny and weak. It tried to meow, but no sound came out. It didn’t even drink when offered some water. Upon examination, I discovered that its leg was broken. It was truly unfortunate.
The kitten caught the attention of many people, but no one was willing to help. Perhaps it had been hit by a car. Its hind legs looked completely fractured. I felt like this little kitten was facing death. And then, ants started crawling on its body. It lay there motionless, staring blankly, closing its eyes, waiting for death.
I’m not a cat lover, but I couldn’t bear to see this helpless creature, this poor kitten, on the verge of dying before my eyes. So, I decided, “Let me take you to the hospital.”
I called a taxi and took the kitten to the hospital. The kitten lay in my arms, struggling to breathe. I don’t know why, but I started crying. The test results came in. Fortunately, its leg wasn’t severely fractured, but one leg was broken. The cause was a bruise on its abdomen. I felt a nerve-wracking pain. The doctor manually pulled the kitten out. Its abdomen was filled with urine. I gave it water and nutritious cream. The kitten regained some strength, but it was still very weak.
It was a very clean kitten. After a long period of treatment, its hind legs were pushed out using physical force. But it didn’t really want to stand on its own legs. Instead, it crawled using its knees. This habit was detrimental to its recovery process.
When we were at home in the rehabilitation center, it would use both its front and hind legs but primarily relied on its knees. It didn’t use its hind legs much below the knees. I hope that it will fully recover soon.
I need to engage in daily functional rehabilitation. Today is a beautiful day, so I took my dog and cat outside for them to enjoy the sunlight.
